My Enduring Love for KASIA.

Kasia Bobula, a ridiculously talented London based fashion photographer (& one of my most favourites) has decided to collaborate with equally gifted photographer Holly Nay providing a striking publication, which captures their most intimate and vibrant backstage photography. 26-year-old Kasia, who originated from the beautiful and charming city of Warsaw, counts backstage photography as one of her favourite pastimes. The Polish photographer, who also contributes for Dazed Digital, uses her time at Fashion Week to capture beautiful scanty clad models loitering around backstage in extravagant high-end design ensembles. However, Bobula claims in the midst of an extremely crowded and fast paced environment it becomes hard for a photographer to work but she admits, ‘It almost becomes a hunt for the right moment. And when it’s right, it can be very, very beautiful.’ Kasia’s work is often intimate & personal, presenting images that engage with her subjects, as if in conversation.

Besides fashion the young freelancer also enjoys capturing the ‘outcasts of the city’ and is ‘fascinated with tower blocks and the seemingly grey architecture of Eastern Europe’ photographing gritty realism in its true form; a far cry from the beauty of fashion. Kasia claims there is no division between the grim and the glamour of fashion, claiming that the downright frank can be just as beautiful. Kasia puts this inspiration down to her mother who also had a talent to create an atypically beautiful image. Aside from her mother, Kasia also adores classic photographers such as Sally Mann, Ed van der Elsken and Irving Penn.

Above, I have picked some of my all time Kasia favourites, which I have kept on my computer for some time hoping I can find an opportunity to show them off & both blogs won’t go a miss! She captures that personality & rare miraculous authenticity in fashion I continue to truly adore..

Now then, I have hardly blogged about Fashion Week of any kind.. But I was particularly impressed by Givenchy SS12. I am so glad to see that typical early 90's heel is coming back - I am dying for a shiny new pair of heels and these would fit the bill perfecto. As you might know I completely love off the 90's, I managed to cop some beaut chunky hoops off me mother who confessed she spent her disco years donning them! I am all over that shit! Anyway enjoy probably my only fashion week post, unless I decide to hop on the band wagon. London, However I would probably blog EVERY collection. For me, London wins every time.

I am loving it, as the 90's is my most favorite time in fashion, plus tomorrow I start to write about 'grunge' influences too. But anywho, I absolutely LOVE this shoot, it reminds me of the beautiful supers of the 90's and infact the photographer Cameron Krone was inspired by Peter Lindbergh’s series of incredible and iconic shots of the supermodels of the 90s. Back then my favorite had to be Cindy or Christy, but in these who knows, they all look pretty dam amazing. The one thing I couldn't take my eyes off though, was their amazing heels- Who are these designed by and where can I get a cheaper alternative?!?

How INSANE do they all look? I am officially jealous, What I would of done to attend this party, some of the outfits are magnificent! Here are a few pictures from London Fashion Week, (and I can't take credit for some of the pics, these were taken by my fabulous friend I met while working there - Ama) Possibly the best week of my life - so far! I met so many interesting people, gained so many amazing new friends and discovered LDN just that little bit more. We were even lucky enough to see some shows, my friend got even more lucky though and got to see Mark Fast (I was SO jealous) I am trying to track down my most favorite collection from that week- Topshop Unique. It wasnt just the clothes I loved, I loved everything about the show- the choice of models, the styling and the hair and make-up ROCKED! I NEED backstage shots. If anyone finds any, be sure to let me know?

& YES thats Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, we met her in Bungalow 8 - She was by far the nicest celebrity fashionista girl I met at LFW, SO down to earth, she even said that its weird when my friend said she had pictures of her on her wall, & I then said 'Your mother is just fabulous, you are so lucky' & she replied, 'yeah, but its not about that, shes amazing anyway!' How sweet is that??!

SO I am back from LFW, extremely tired as I worked near enough 12 hours a day, it drained me, but at same time, it was the most fantastic experience ever. I have big dark circles round my eyes though from getting up at 6 EVERY morning and working until 7. lol. The things you do for your passion!

I am trying to track down some of my favorite collections, I did get to see Osman & Basso & Brooke but didn't get to take any pictures as I was quite far away, I did however see Jessica Hart my most favorite model of the moment- I was gob-smacked, not gonna lie, and she is just as beautiful in real life! I also saw Bambi outside London club Mahiki- She is also just as gorgeous in real life- Yes Annoying! :) I wish I could of got a pic with her, but felt abit shy lol.

So Here: Mossy smashing it as always for Another Magazine, these are just some of the stills, and as always she shows us who is still at the top of the supermodel game, and doesn't look like shes leaving anytime soon. (Yay)

WOW NO BLACK! This collection is growing on me, I love the unexpected splashes of coral & mint tones & the theme of drapes & minimalism running throughout. At first I thought this collection was quite earthy, and tribal especially when the models came together at the end & created a beautiful spectrum of colours, but now I can see a 90's skate influence, or slight hippie theme going on, especially with the nose rings & long hemlines. Either way, I really like this collection, and of course Wang has done it again & pulled another genius collection out the bag! Wangs collection is bad'ass every single year, I find it really hard to dislike the man or any of his collections.!
and p.s Abbeys hair- I LOVEEE. That face can pull off anything!

I brought the cover with Rosie on the front looking every inch the sexy siren....But then again I was very tempted with Sienna's & Giselle's cover, I also quite liked Alessandra Ambrosio's cover. Maybe or just a little bit blown away. British Vogue plays it safe (or not) by using Mossy for their september cover. Some may disagree but I think Moss represents the London fashion scene perfectly. I am BACK!! So sorry for the lack of blog posts, I have been interning for a month at a fashion PR company in LDN and LOVING IT! I thought I'd kick off with Acnes S/S10 collection- full slouchy silhouettes & 70's bohemian glamour. Since I have been in LDN my style has taken a transition. I am no longer afraid of colour & completely past my grunge 'black central' look. I am now loving lots of nude, tan and grey with silver accessories & slouchy jumpers, drapes and sheers. I am also LOVING shorts. Its been hot every single day in LDN so I have lived in my black KM Topshop string up shorts or my wonderful grey leather shorts which were a Brick Lane find! I am also building up my ring collection and shoving a ring virtually on every single finger! lol. Think the recent Mania Mania lookbook featuring the lovely Bambi Northwood- Blyt. In LDN I went mad on purchases and I start as I mean to go on- Hello Topshop black leather backpac, slouchy hats & buckle leather heels. I LOVE summer dressing! Expect lots of posts as of now!

Sorry for the lack of blog love- I have been completely snowed under with uni work! I thought I would share with you a very special PR company I was asked to visit a few weeks ago in Shoreditch, London called Robinson Pfeffer. The company is ran by two australians who bonded over 'their combined love of Serge Gainsbourg, poodle conga lines and all things kitsch' and started a company in London 1999. The company represents various Australian and New Zealand designers such as Dress Up, Lucy Hutchings, Sosume, Thurley, Alpha 60, Tim Soar, Tina Kalivas and Stolen Girlfriends Club. They are a really unique and friendly agency and I met Tara who was kind enough to talk me through all the brands. I am also proud to say I am starting an internship with them mid June- which I am so excited about, I am eager to gain some valuable experience from them. I am also nervous and excited about getting a taster of London life as I will be away from home for a month.! eeek! Anywho...here are some of my pictures of some of my favourites- Stolen Girlfriends Club- (1st Image,Top Right) Toby Jones (1st image Jewelry- absolutely beautiful detailed fine silver) Dress Up- (2nd Image Top Right- delicate samon colored slinky jacket) Obakki (2nd Image Bottom Right) but my most favourite was Tina Kalivas who once helped design for Alexander McQueen (3rd Image, Top Left) The garments were wonderfully crafted, with a unique tribal theme running through. I especially loved the look-book and choice of model inside. I loved learning about these fantastic brands and can't wait to start my internship with them :)

Glamourous, subtle and sensual and 'an understated seductiveness' Anja's face is made for make-up and works it well in this editorial shot by the amazing Camilla Akrans. I love her work because the colours in her imagery is always so saturated and bold. Akrans has a fabulous distinctive style that you can always notice its been shot by her.

Since she's been around I have grown to love her style, she is not only incredibly stunning (she makes me envy her bee-stung lips) but she really can dress too! I also seen her recently in a beautiful Christian Dior Red gown in a photo with Abbey-Lee and she made me want to wear red! (and believe me this never happens!) and I need to track down this photo to post on my blog! But anyway I seen her in another gorgeous dress and I thought she deserved a mention.

The Frock Me team is hitting the streets of Nottingham on Wednesday 5th May, looking for the city's best-dressed residents.

We're on the hunt for the coolest street style the city has to offer and looking for two people to compete in a style challenge, all filming will take place on 8th May.

I have decided I focus far too much on editorial and supermodels and not emerging talent from fresh young designs like Fanny and Jessy who are graduates from the London College of Fashion :) Their recent collection named 'Vaniloquence' focuses on a cutting edge, androgynous, 'tough girl' style with a 90's influence. The brand itself is for the risk taker in fashion and the 'confident youth culture of today.' This collection recently inspired Lady Gaga to wear one of their pieces on her australian tour. So I have taken my obsession with Kate to a new level, one my best friends brought me the Kate Moss book for my 23rd birthday a few weeks ago and I have almost finished it, (only a few chapters away from the end, sob sob) The book itself is fascinating, you get an insight into her crazy but glamourous life of the supermodel that rarely does interviews (and speaks for that matter!!) its fantastic, and I have to say her romance with Johnny Depp is so endearing and sweet, (I so wished they would of married and had children) but ok so Kate is fabulous, I say it with every post lol...so here again I bore you (or not) with another post of the beautiful Kate who continues to inspire me everyday..... ahhh I am starting to sound sad now, but she really does, not just with her wonderfully dressed self, but that beautiful face that I will never tire of.....

I have always favored Ashley out of the two twins, just for her chic, impeccable style and taste. I love the way she puts an outfit together, and I also love that she looks to Kate Moss as one of her style icons! When I was younger I was obsessed with the Olsen twins in 'Two of a Kind' I loved their style back then and used to copy them all the time, I even had my hair highlighted blonde because of them! (I remember taking a picture of them into the hairdressers lol) I adore Ash's look here, especially her blue scarf teamed with a Fendi bag & I think those stilettos are Givenchy ? (Correct me if I'm wrong) She's so effortless and I will always have a soft spot for Ash. x

Happy New Year 2010! Hope you all had a fabulous and fashionable end to the year! My xmas was very nice, I got some lovely things including a YSL Lip Palette in the style of a luggage tag and also a massive fashion book and coco chanel dvd and other bits. So yes mine was very fashionable lol I am going to start the year with the beauty that is Lara Stone and this very simplistic but stunning mini editorial from Paris Vogue. Lara is definitely going to have a very long modeling career, her look is so versatile and I never get bored of seeing her- she's almost like a very good actress in photos and I love her sultry sexy looks. Her features are strikingly beautiful. She kind of reminds me of Kate in some ways, and probably will go on to be just like Kate.
